Ochsenfurt is located on the southern point of the Main – valley where the river describes a triangle. Having 12.000 inhabitants it is the biggest town in the district of Würzburg. Thanks to advantageous traffic conditions because of the navigable Main, the railway line from Würzburg to Munich and a most favourable connection to motorways, the historic old town has become the centre of industry and trade in the area. Nevertheless the charm and the magic spell of an old Franconian township has been preserved up to present days.

Both, river and important road connections, have determined and influenced the 1200 years of a history, which is closely related to the see of Würzburg.
